Kristen’s Chickens and Farming Ventures

Good luck, @Kris5902 That's a lot of work having to push around those tractor coop's. I have the stationary one that we built from out of wood, and the attached secure pen is made from horse panels (top and sides), covered with 2" x 4 " galvanized no climb that runs 2 ' under ground, and then the smaller sized chicken wire over it. There is wood placed over it on the top of all of that to help with shade and extra protection.

It’s not actually all that hard to move them @BlueBaby! I do need to work out a wheel arrangement for the meat tractors though. As long as there are not large rocks or sedge clumps in the way. I’ve found they are much easier to move across a slope then tuning downhill and back across it rather than going downhill or uphill with them. One morning I hope to get Andrew to shoot a quick video of me moving them. It’s usually a one person affair, but if I find an unexpected rock or extremely rough ground I sometimes need a little help.

That's ok, it's all rocks and dirt here. Hubby drag's the yard when there are weed's. We don't want hidden danger's lurking in them.

Had a rat snake in my chick's grow-out pen this morning. It ate one of my NN chick's. I didn't have anything with me to kill it with, so I grabbed a long board to guide it get it out of there with.

No.... not the NN’s! Bad snake! I like snakes, a lot, but that’s not good.

Yes, and at least that Dork O chick wasn't the one that got eaten. That's the only one of those that I have that I hatched from egg's shipped from @Compost King If that snake come's back, I will be ready for it. He can't have my chick's for a meal!

That sounds very thorough BlueBaby but I can't picture it at all. Any chance of a photo?
