Kris, Those weights and carcasses are more than respectable for non-CX birds. They fit neatly into the heritage fryer category. And they look great!

That looks like the keel bone to me. It's pretty common in young heritage birds, which is why US customers don't like them. In a CX that would be covered by at least an 1/8" of muscle at 8 weeks.What is this odd lump?

I started picking and buying chickens in 67... They all looked like that back then.DOH!!
Now that I look at it again, yeah, keel bone. It looked off center to me at first.
I think it was more I didn't recognize the angle of the photo.keel bone, some of them appear a little off center because the birds were put in the blast chiller to bring them down to temp so we could take them home
