Well that's a start on what you can take to market next time, huh?

Yep, so fingers crossed they are fertile, hatch, and are large enough for decent meat production, but more Robust than their Moms. Then i’ll Have to decide on keeping a cockerel or just the pullets from the F1 cross... I have to say I’m quite impressed by Sammy’s offspring, they are very consistent and productive girls, but a little more robust and fuller framed than their Aunties.

I'd keep the pullet's and take the cockerel's to market. That way the pullet's can lay more egg's for you later.

Wow. More birds again. Your numbers will be up again before you know it!

Right now I’m at 7 CX, 4 Marans/Sapphires, 1 Marans/Isbar, and the rest Chickie Hawk and his girls. A dozen of Chickie Hawk’s girls are promised, and I have to consider the cockerel/pullet hatch ratio as well. I’m not really planning on expanding my laying flock again this year except for the meat bird breeding program. But “chicken math”, we will see how it goes, I forget if the limit was 100 or 150 birds? Best not to look too closely IMO
