I really can’t be bothered to toss his cabin looking for them... it’s a disaster in there. The time before last when he went to Cuba we cleaned it up for him... scrubbed all the grime encrusted surfaces, mopped, picked up all the trash and recycling, hauled his dishes down to a proper sink and washed everything. It is just as bad as it was before now.

We’ve had a power outage and now I’m worried about my eggs! They are on day 5. 7/8 of the second batch I put into lockdown hatched just before the outage, everyone is hooked up to my inverter and some batteries but it’s so cold in the room my incubator won’t get up past 85! It’s been two hours now.
Can you make some hot water bottles or move the incubator into a box to retain the heat ?

O no! Do you know what caused the outage?

Kris, I'm hoping for you. I've gone 8 hours without power during a hatch and didn't do badly. your babies in lockdown are highest risk... They may delay hatching as its safe in the egg. if they hatch they're going to need supplemental heat. Here's hoping it comes back on quickly :fl :fl and these are for you :hugs:hugs
When funds permit you might want to consider some of these... https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mr-Heate...rwrTOSMdkm1Wx4DjMOVe-39QfvtouGQhoCeGYQAvD_BwE
They work well and really don't burn a lot of propane.

the buddy heaters use a lot more propane than our Olympian wave... but basically the same idea without the pilot flame. That our heat for the trailer! Lol. I thought about taking them up to the trailer but was hoping for a quicker turn around. Power just came back on 15 minutes ago. I was running two eco glow heaters, the incubator and the turner off of one deep cycle and a 300 watt inverter no problems... it was just regulating the outside (inside) temperature!

Windstorm took our several trees that landed on power lines.

worse news sadly... we lost two wall sections in the stairway and library to the windstorm this evening.

I now have Barney, Sammy, and the girls all crammed into the barn brooder tonight everyone is a little cold, but alright

That's awful. Stay safe. No chain sawing in the dark.
