I am glad you like them, I know I do. I hope more Langshan-fans join in, I would really like to get to know you all better. I only breed white ones, and as I am sure you understand, they take up a lot of room, as I need to have seperate breeding-pens. So, no room (or time) for other breeds/colors. If I was younger, I would have bred blues, but as this life seems to be my only one, I'll stick to the whites. I have a young Danish friend, (allthough we never met) who is starting up now, she has a few chicks, and more eggs on the way, so she will probably end up one of Europe's leading Croad Langshan breeders, all 3 colors. She is not even 30, so she has time on her side. She is really good with genetics for chickens, and has a very strong flair for breeding quality, so I am pretty certain she has a great future in Langshan breeding. I am sure she will join this site in due course, and then you will get some really good discussions here!

I received 26 White Langshan chicks + 1 rare free Dominique chick last Sunday from Murray McMurray Hatchery. All arrived very healthy with no DOA. Today a week later all 27 are still very healthy and very active. Later this year I would like to buy some SQ White Langshan eggs or chicks from a breeder.

Your chicks look fantastic. In my experience with breeding (white Croad) Langshans is that it dont matter much what your birds are, and where they come from. As they are such an old breed, any scrawny little hen will breed some really nice ones, if the cock is ok. The genes are so strong in this breed. When fertility and size goes downhill, just find an un-related (or nearly) cock, and systematic flock-breeding WILL give results. They are probably the most grateful breed I have ever had. So good luck with your little ones!
