I believe it may still be a Marans. The eye is awfully
Light in color. A Marans and Langshan can look similar, especially if she is a mis marked Marans.
Hi there, everyone. I'm new to Backyard Chickens, and, so far, my experience has been awesome. I've been drooling over Langshans A LOT lately, and would love to know some things about them, pet-wise. I mostly like white Langshans, but the black Langshans are cool, too. Would love to hear some good things about Langshans!
I'm new to Langshans too, but I absolutely love them! They are very bold, curious and unafraid. They paddle when they run around the yard and my little roo is a hoot to watch. He hasn't gotten his voice yet, but he still herds his girls around the pen. I am hoping that my other Blue Langshan is a pullet (I can't tell at this moment if she is a girl or boy) - hoping for some nice chicks next year! I'm told they are slow to mature. Mine are the biggest of the chicks that are all the same age. They are definitely at the top of the peck order. Absolutely loving my Langshans!
Well, rodiriguez is going to gag, but I have Marans here and that looks like one to me as well. They are pretty gawky to start out. Wait until the color comes in on the hackles. It actually doesn't look too bad from here. I think one of the reasons I like Langshans is I like this body type. I still don't have any. Which reminds me: who was it was coming to Maine for a vacation with chickens?? Yeah, you can come here and fish in the beaver pond and leave your Langshans behind. lol
is it possible to have a Langshan from a hatchery with a pea comb?? i have a bird that im trying to find out what he is. Hes solid white and is a bantam and looks just like these but has a pea comb
