Large BR Pullet about to be 36 weeks and hasn't laid!

No, after all the discussion, I don't know what I think, but I have been very entertained all morning!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the key may be in what breed of chicken this actually is. A BR female has the same colouring as what you have the, but very dark legs. I am not as familiar with the specific characteristics of barred Marans. Maybe some of the characteristics seen here are common for the breed, (or maybe it's a mixed breed). For instance, female feathering on roo or spur-buds, large wattle on hen, or late laying. The weight thing seems to be my favourite possibility for the late start so far, but thought I'd ask about how much you know about the breed anyway.

I wish I could give a definite answer to that! When I went in to Rural King it was with the intention to walk out with a few Olive Eggers. The employee helping me was young and the bins were mixed and I believe he grabbed 2 olive eggers and 1 of whatever the other of 3 varieties was mixed in the bin by mistake. I'm not an expert on chick coloring, so I didn't realize until they began to grow. The two OE were identical just different shades of grey. Alma was big from the start, slightly sick and feathered a bit slower. I honestly don't remember what other breeds were mixed in the bin but I *believe* there were barred rocks in there. Her legs are more yellow than white in person, photos on my cheap phone don't translate colors very well.

She is not a Barred Rock, but is unquestionably, 100% a pullet. NOTHING indicates that she is a cockerel.

Thank you for the guidance, I appreciate you responding! Do you believe she is a Marans? I really have no experience with breeds.

Realistically, I have no idea as to her breed. The comb is typical of a Mediterranean breed. It would be interesting to know what her DNA is. Hatchery bred birds are frequently ?

It would be super interesting! Well, whatever she's all mixed up with she's a great bird. Despite being unfulfilling in her intended function, she gives back tenfold in a lot of sweet companionship ♡
