Large Fowl Cochin Thread

New to Cochin's. I have a quad of LF Black Cochin's. I am buying a LF Barred Cochin Hen this weekend, what color chicks would I get if I breed her with the Black Rooster. I am just starting to breed them, have several chicks to grow out. Would I get just black or would I get any Barred. Thanks for your help.

You would get sexlinks. Their offspring will be barred male chicks and black female chicks.

Hi. I've had Cochins for a while and recently hatched some eggs from a breeder. I believe I have a blue partridge roo. I have not seen this color before and would like verification. He is LF and seven weeks old. Is blue partridge even a thing? If so, is anyone working on these as a project bird? If he's not blue partridge does anyone have a guess as to what he might be?

Another question then, If i where to keep one of the sexlink barred roosters and breed it back to it's barred mother, would i get all barred, male and femail?

What color are white Cochin's at hatch? These were gray and white. I thought they might be Langshan but the tail is not there.

I found a pair of LF Cochins. Here they are. Can anyone tell me if they are show quality? The previous owners said that Blue has place 1st and 2nd at the shows she brought him to. I just was wondering if they are SQ. I like them either way just wondering.

I had the hardest time in my area too. I just kept checking craigslist until I found a pair I thought were good quality. Hope you find some.

It took awhile and I did not get chicks. You can see mine a few posts back. I am hoping one of my hens will go broody and hatch me some.
