The LF blues are my absolute favorite! I have 7 one week old babies! and another batch hatching!!!! Cant wait! I dont have any pics of adult blues, maybe someone else can chime in, but I am lovin my lil peeps!

We had three very stunning blue cochins that all ended up being roosters....fortunately they ALL have great homes and will get to be roosters!!!! We have 3 new blue babies and we are thinking that 2 of them are hens! Woohoo! They are my favorite too!!!! There are some really cool pictures of them if you do a google search for Blue Cochins....and click on images!!! One of the coolest pictures looks just like one of our roosters! He is living at my best friend's house so we will get to see him often!!!

here are some pics of mine sorry not the best pics

I have a 10 week old blue that is without a doubt, all boy. He is really pretty, so I will most likely keep him even if I have to build a separate pen for him and some girls. He was part of my first hatch attempt and I am kind of fond of him. Heck, I even met his mom and dad! I wish I could post pics, but my camera died and I can't get another right now. I have six eggs from my blacks in the incubator that should hatch Friday. I am hooked on Cochins.

My Black Cochin roo is hurt! When I went out to feed this morning, I saw that my big black roo was just hunkered down outside the wire. When I got closer, I noticed that he was not right. His back had been pretty much skinned and most of his wing feathers were gone too. I picked him up and checked him out. There was no blood, his eyes were bright and he was alert so I put him back in the pen. He went into the coop and has been just standing there for quite a while now. I am not sure what happened. If my dogs had done it, I don't think there would have been enough left to find. It almost looks like the road rash I would get when I would wreck my motorcycle! I am going to be watching him closely to make sure he is going to be OK. What should I put on his back. Would something like neosporin be alright to use?

I'd probably separate him, and make sure he's gonna be okay. Neosporin without pain reliever is okay, but I've read that the pain reliever is toxic. I'd give him the works, electrolytes, vitamins, watch closely for any worsening symptoms that might indicate infection. Search for puncture wounds, etc. If he stops eating/ drinking, and seems lethargic, liquid B vitamins can be used, maybe antibiotics at that point...

Hope he's okay!
