Large Fowl Cochin Thread

What color? I am looking for some mor SQ blues
Well, I am anxious to see the color as well. I set 5 Lemon Blues, and 3 Frizzles of unknown color. Pulled one clear LB at day 8 and when I candled day 18 one more looked like a quitter but I left it just in case. I saw one red/brown, two gray, two yellowish chicks, so we shall see what comes out.

Cool! I contacted 10 blue cochin breeders yesterday. I have gotten no responses..

Whooohoo! Day 21 and I have already seen 5 adorable little babies poking out from under mama! Just waiting on 2 more. I would share a picture but BYC and my phone don't like each other today. :-(

congratulations!!!

I finally got some photos of some of my Cochins. This is my roo, named Avalanche. He was one of four "blue" chicks and grew to be a big splash. I guess he has the blue gene if not the color.

This is Licorice, also one of the four "blue" chicks. The three pics below are of Sooty, the only chick that actually turned out to be blue. The only chick I haven't caught a pic of yet is Snowball, and she's a splash like my roo, Avalanche.

Do you ship Blue cochin hatching eggs? I just love your hens!!

BCFR-1
5 1/2 months old. He has matured a lot since I got him. I am really excited to see how he does at the show on the 28.

I am expecting really good things from BCH-1 on the 28. Her tail still hasn't come back to normal fluff after her bath yesterday.

I especially can not wait to become certified and be able to sell chicks, and eggs out of these two!

Thanks!

My Cochins are just 22 weeks old, and I haven't gotten any eggs yet (I've heard that they take longer to mature --- has that been your experience?). If I get some eggs, I'm going to try to hatch some and enlarge my flock a bit first. But I would certainly consider offering eggs in the future.
