Large Fowl Cochin Thread

that fits- doing more research- she is very stressed- i was afraid it may be her heart since she is so big
I hope it's not that but could be. I culled a large cockeral bc of it. He wouldn't have done well with the draining etc that comes with it just more humane to put them down sometimes.

OMG I love cochins. I'm about to have an all Cochin flock. <3 My lovely blue won me over with her big doe eyes and sweetness. Now I just have to find some more cochins! Lol let the hunt begin.

I think I found the problem, plain worms... eww! She is a bit perkier

Is anyone planning on attending the swap in Ladysmith, WI, tomorrow? I'll be there looking for LF in a variety of colors! :D

You will need to trim both cock and hen to get fertility, trim the feathers below the vent on the cock bird and the feathers above the vent on the hen.

Is there any way to know if my chicks will end up being hens with rounded tails?

Hello, all. Glad to find this forum! After many years of being "chickenless", I have decided to get back into the LF Cochins...yay! This time, I am interested in finding a source for the gold laced variety. I used to keep blacks and buffs but am finding myself drawn to this amazing color. Would like to start with some very high quality birds. I did locate some coming July chicks from McMurrays, but I know the quality won't be there. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
