Hmmm, driving down the road in a car with a loaded hornets nest. There is potential there for one hell of an exciting ride.

"Please tell me one more time what happened just before you hit the tree? Well, you see officer, ouch................."

LMAO!!!!!!!! Have you ever seen Tommy Boy? ""BEEEEEES! THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

WOW - That is a HUGE nest. It is kinda pretty.

If they're not bothering anyone, I would say leave it as well.

You don't have anyone advertising that they will remove them for free?

Good luck

We love bees but hat wasps and hornets.

We get a lot of paper wasp nests here. They spend a lot of time hovering around our lawn (we assume they are looking for bugs to eat and water) and so our girls are hesitant to be on the lawn during the summer.

We've always had really good success using the long distance (20 ft) canned sprays.

Last year we got a can of the stuff that was "foaming" wasp spray and I LOVE IT! It foams up around the nest and they get caught up in it a lot more than just the liquid spray.

Yup, do it at night when they are all inside and more "dormant" than during the day when they are all out and about and you'll not get as big of a kill rate.

Those are hornets. Hornets catch, kill and eat flys, lots of them. They will help keep flys around the coop down. Just don't get near and upset them.

Also, if you do decide to get rid of them, do not use any of the fire suggestions with it being attached to your nice coop.

They do eat a lot of flies... I was going to move a rabbit carcass the other day that was killed by a hawk. Swarming with flies and right as I was getting ready to pick it up with the shovel... about three of the BF Hornets came in and grabbed up one fly each. I waited a bit and more came back for more flies... It's a good thing those hornets are small as man they are vicsous hunters...

Anyhow... I left the rabbit as it looked like to me a "hornets fly trap"....

This is the bee that stung my now three year old two summers ago. We were driving in the truck and it crawled on his leg and stung him in the inner thigh. I never heard my son scream like that, EVER! I pulled over as fast as I could. My DH tryed to get it off but it wouldn't stop stinging him. I ripped my son out of his carseat as fast as I could. And then it finally let go and fell to the ground where I was able to step on it. My son's skin was actually torn and bleeding were it had stung him, from trying to remove it. Those are nasty bees with long stingers! They will sting if you even walk by them or are in their way.

I really hope that's not what you have.
