I'm going to try again next year to get some black scovies from Metzer. I'm debating if I want to go the assorted route again or just pay the 22 bucks each to get guaranteed black. They're st run though, and as long as Moose is here, I can't have another boy, so I'm pretty hesitant to pay that much each when odds are at least 50% will be male's to end up processing

The runner females are almost all feathered. The male's and one little girl still have a bit of down.

Swedish female went broody again. Poor thing is so skittish around me though with her nest. I have to make sure I don't look at her or she starts getting agitated

That is ridiculously expensive for scovies! At that point, you should just order from Al's Quackery!

At least they're not all males. I'm debating keeping one for a different bloodline (my 5 are all from the same place currently)

Plus it's free shipping as long as I order 10 ducklings, so it's not like I have to get a whole gaggle of scovy, I can always add in assorted females for pretty cheap to get up to the minimum

That's crazy! My friend shows black muscovies and sells males for $30 full grown. Yeah they're males but still, $30 for a full grown scovy compared to $22 for a duckling.
My mentor also breeds scovies, though they are more pet quality. He sells ducklings sexed for $10 each.
