If you are planning to raise ducks, I highly recommend the duck waterers for young birds. I'll probably also use them for the calls, but they do help with cutting down on the water wastage. Older/adult sized birds aren't as suited, since their bills are too big to keep the ground dry, but the Littles do pretty well after a week, and they can usually get out if they fall in, which is always a worry with bowls

Babies should be at the post office. I'll be leaving the house to get them in less than an hour
All were alive and well. Honestly I was surprised considering the heatwave (and flooding, smh) that they had to travel through. They are now split between 3 broody hens (was supposed to be 4, but one refused to accept them so I took then before they wandered away and got themselves killed).

@The Moonshiner , what is up with this hen of yours?View attachment 3888807
This is the 3rd time this year shes gone broody. She sits too heavy though for the heat and keeps cooking her eggs though, so now she has a bunch of baby ducks (I think 7) that hopefully she takes care of
Once she bonds, I'll move her to a better space, she insists that this box is the only place to have a clutch though

And I jinxed myself :barnie

One of my mama's literally lost one of the calls. Going to keep looking for him, at least it's warm enough that it's not an emergency to find him before he's too chilled. But he's also bite-sized for most things down at the barn
You'll be lucky if they don't all get killed.
I've not even had great luck introducing a duckling back to it's OWN mother after they have been apart for any length of time.
