I've known for a little while that her time was coming. And it really did help that she was as okay with it as she was. No trying to get away when I picked her up, no flailing or flapping during the walk up to the house, no screaming or even nervous squawking, she just watched the grasses and birds as we sat and walked. Only part she protested was her head being pulled out of the cone, which I cant blame her one bit for.Sorry to hear this Jacin.![]()
Not in the house I'm not! They'll get a lamp if they need one, but that's itSo... Keeping ducks inside for the winter?![]()
There are more eggs, so I'm hoping that they start doing better without such easy access to the pen from other ducks. This is Lunas second hatch and A$$holes first. I have 2 chocolate females and 2 white females (both had black head spots as Littles if that changes anything). That does look chocolate, and yes males can carry the gene without showing it, and since it's sex-linked that is probably a female.
Although, I see you have a white female, so she *could* be base chocolate which would mean the baby can be either gender.
You'll know soon enough if they are mules/hinnies.
Sorry you lost so many.![]()
