That's strange. Does it seem sluggish or hurt in any way? If not then hooray, a natural helper! It brings wonderful spring wildlife to mind. We see deer all the time and last year called to the pair of horned owls that would hoot across the valley to each other. Hope to work on blocks tomorrow if cabin fever doesn't drive family crazy:)
No it isn't hurt. It flies around. This is the second time it's been back. I turned it loose a few days ago. I really didn't expect it to be back.

Darn. Came out at 12 inches instead of 12.5! Will try bigger square triangles. Quilt calculator said 7" square. Blah:-(

Thank you wyo. Cut bigger outside squares so now it's right. I've been workin up a storm today. Hope everyone is sewing up a storm!

Just a note to say I'm still here and will be sewing soon... Hope everyone is staying warm and dry.

My mother is done with her set. She did a hand applique using a button hole stitch and she hand embroidered the lettering. She hopes yall like them. Momma is an amazing lady. She is 72 years young, works 40 hours a week at the college (she will never retire, I've finally realized that LOL), and she had a rough 2012, she found a lump in March 2012. She had chemo followed by radiation for triple negative breast cancer. (Yup you guessed it, she missed very little work.) Finished up the treatment the week before Christmas and she just got a good report at her one month post follow-up visit. Ladies get your mammograms scheduled. Momma caught hers early doing monthly self exam - stage 2a, no lymph nodes involved. Here is a pic of her squares.

Such pretty blocks Bama1. I know you're proud of your mama. She's my age, will be 73 on the 29th of this month. I'm blessed with having no health issues so I am very active with my garden, chickens, dog, cat, quilting and crocheting and I put out a 6 page newsletter every month. Your mom should be proud of herself for not letting it get to her and staying active. That's what keeps you young. I'm sure she's proud of you too as I'm proud of my daughter, paulsmuffen. She decdied to go back to school when her children were grown, despite health issues and she's always on the go.

I've got 5 finished and all of the fabric cut. I'm working on getting them done as much as possible because I'm looking for a job myself. Tired of being dependent on dh, we've grown apart so I need to get myself self-reliant for times ahead. Been out of the workforce basically since having kids so I'm starting from the bottom. Only looking up...happy cluckin!
