UPDATE:
We brought her home this morning
She freaked at first in her temporary pen but then settled down quickly and chowed down a dish of layer/scrath mix
We went to the park this morning with a box of catfood, intending on catching Snowy. When I got out of the car, all of the ducks were in the shade of the trees and when Snowy saw me, she started quacking a ran to meet me, with the other domestics close on her heels and the mallards not far behind
She chowed down the cat food I sprinkled on the ground. Meanwhile the two pekins and the two rouens were right behind her so when I grabbed her she couldn't back away. Within less than 5 minutes of getting to the park, I had her!
She is just so tiny compared to even my runner! She stand up so straight and she is my only duck that eats out of my hands even though I just took her away from her previous home
The pekin mama, we named "Yuki" (japenese for snow and lucky), is now settling in as well and is stuffing her face full with food as I type. I can feel the brake in her joint that is at the top of her leg, right where it is overlapped with feathers.... at the base of the leg.. if you want to put it that way?
Here's Yuki's story if you haven't read it yet: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=214934
I am so relieved that we got Snowy home and safe at last!!
(I'll post pics ASAP)
