Yep, same situation. What are your plans for your flock? Do they free range or are they in some sort of coop or chicken tractor? When we are able to purchase them, we will free range in an area sanctioned off with electric fencing/Hotwire. They will have a large coop for night, but I'm lazy about cleaning, so I'm worried about that... Lol, just kidding. I have to clean a snake's cage, two leopard geckos' cage, a large fish tank, a pond, quail pens and cages, brooders, incubators, a dog's pen, a very large tortoise pen, and keep up a small garden and mini "wildlife preserve" which houses any animal that comes along. We have wild strawberries, grass, oak trees, and plenty of bushes, shrubs, wild flowers, and weeds for mice, snakes, rats, lizards, frogs, toads, birds, rabbits, squirrels, and many other animals to share. My dog usually runs the rabbits and squirrels off, but they are pretty persistent. I peacefully coexist with them and a family of raccoons. Don't tell anyone, but I leave out peanut butter and bird seed for them sometimes...lol, probably not a great idea with so many animals, an orchard, and a garden but I can't resist. Guess I'm one of those bleeding hearted animal lovers...
