Had to meet a friend today that lived 45 minutes away... Half way there the sole of my shoe fell off so I made a stop to a store to buy cheap shoes to get me through... It took forever and I was running behind. Got outside to switch out the shoes just to notice that the new shoes were of the same side feet!!!! Lol I just stuffed the receipt in the box and went on my merry way with one sole less shoe!!!! My life is a comedy of errors. That is for sure. Hope everyone enjoyed there day!!

Hangs head. No chickens at the moment, new neighborhood, new chicken zoning laws... But I do raise quail and am building a nice new pen soon for some coturnixes, hopefully tuxes and maybe some A&Ms. I had my sandal come apart at a water park, the kids wanted to ride some crazy roller coaster, so I quickly purchased some cheap sandals at a gift shop, two sizes too big, and we got on the roller coaster. Well, they weren't kidding about securing loose items...lost one shoe halfway through and spent half an hour looking for it in the mob below the coaster...just glad it didn't jam the gears of the ride or anything like that, I would've had a heart attack. Apparently the kids thought it was funny to tell me halfway through another ride that people had died on it...wasn't true of course but I felt like I was in shock! I bought two new pairs of shoes at that one water park, the one that fell of the coaster was no longer wearable. The second pair lasted a few days after the park and then they came apart too...craziness!

I raise for eggs and pets, hopefully for meat soon. I'm not sure if the family would like that though, they are quite picky when it comes to that stuff. I don't mind butchering, but I don't like the death throes and it is hard for me to eviscarate them anyway, so maybe in the future. I was terrified of coasters till this year when I finally gave it a try...only at Disneyland though, no Six Flags or Magic Mountain no matter how much begging gets to my ears. How are so many kids so fearless? Frankly, it's a little scary!

Yep, same situation. What are your plans for your flock? Do they free range or are they in some sort of coop or chicken tractor? When we are able to purchase them, we will free range in an area sanctioned off with electric fencing/Hotwire. They will have a large coop for night, but I'm lazy about cleaning, so I'm worried about that... Lol, just kidding. I have to clean a snake's cage, two leopard geckos' cage, a large fish tank, a pond, quail pens and cages, brooders, incubators, a dog's pen, a very large tortoise pen, and keep up a small garden and mini "wildlife preserve" which houses any animal that comes along. We have wild strawberries, grass, oak trees, and plenty of bushes, shrubs, wild flowers, and weeds for mice, snakes, rats, lizards, frogs, toads, birds, rabbits, squirrels, and many other animals to share. My dog usually runs the rabbits and squirrels off, but they are pretty persistent. I peacefully coexist with them and a family of raccoons. Don't tell anyone, but I leave out peanut butter and bird seed for them sometimes...lol, probably not a great idea with so many animals, an orchard, and a garden but I can't resist. Guess I'm one of those bleeding hearted animal lovers...
