Well not sure what's going on then, with my Silkie Brahma cross I have pictured first. Here's his father Scaredy, a LF Silkie.

He has a smooth walnut, so does his grandson.

They are R/r+, P/p+ due to having large wattles for being walnut
Weird, the pure Silkie, & the one Satin female produced(Edit: The pure Silkie pullet is Scaredy's daughter) satin is from my Silkie Brahma mix are smooth walnut.

I have two other offspring from my Silkie Brahma mix, that have a comb like my other Silkie rooster I posted. The floppy 3 bladed combed boy.

Rose comb in heterozygous form is identical to the homozygous form(That is why it's impossible to distinguish a R/r+ Wyandotte) and will not produce 3 bladed combs
Definitely interesting. From my Brahma Silkie mix, back crossed to silkies.

They had two different mothers, but the same father. One mother has the odd comb type. Mama #2.

2 are smooth walnut combed.

2 have a weird 3 blade.

I am not sure why you keep bringing this? I have stated that your sire is R/r+ and P/p+ there is no if or buts about it. as to why he sired walnut progeny? Well that is statistically expected as well.
I was just wondering if the smooth walnut would've corrected the other comb type.

Plus, I was enjoying soaking up more knowledge of what's happening.
