Hi All!
I’m hoping to get some insight on an issue I’m having with my 5 week old D’Uccle Bantam chick. We ordered her from MyPetChicken and she arrived with a funky leg..

I thought/hoped it would work itself out. My husband took her to the vet today (wish i hadn’t been at work and had been able to go, because I would have asked more questions)

Anyway, the vet told him to cull her! :( Because she looks like she has a genetic condition causing leg problems. (Her leg is cocked to the side and semi - paralyzed ... it just looks strange and is not fully functional) They said it could get infected from her hobbling on it.
They also said she has some kind of tumor on her abdomen. (Then I paid them 50$...)

I’m attaching pics — any wisdom or advice?? I am planning to keep her in a separate cage (planning to purchase a large bird cage for her to live solo in) But google is scaring me with scary prognosis's!!!!! :( I’m worried I am prolonging the inevitable, but honestly these chickens are my babies! Culling is just not an option for me - unless it’s truly truly dire situation.

Help!!!!

She'll live just fine. Most likely was due to a slipped tendon.
I have a RIR mix who's leg is wonky, but gets around by hopping around on one leg. She had a slipped tendon when she was a chick.

That’s actually why I brought her to the vet - google made it sound like that’s what it was so I hoped they could pop it back in! So slipped tendons don’t always heal?
