The name of the partridge chick is.... Nutmeg!

A little while ago, I went I out to the coop to collect eggs. (From the other hens)

I saw all the chickens, the little ones lined up on the infirmary/outdoor brooder.
The big hens were by the feed, and happily gobbled up a chunk of grass I tore up for them. Then I realized something was off... there were two chickens missing! Safaia and Luna, some of my favorites!

I searched everywhere, under the coop, in the coop, the nesting boxes, behind the tractor, and I couldn’t find them anywhere! By this time my heart was racing and I was sure they were gone.

Then of course I found them, using a branch as a roost between the two trees that are in their run. Sneaky chickens! You can tell I get easily nervous.

Also, chickens are way better at balance/stretching than I am!

I bet Safaia and Luna were super pleased to have found such a comfy branch
...I fully understand you get easily nervous, I always worry about nearly everything, for example: could their heads get stuck in the new chick-feeder with wire frame

Thank you! We decided for the black one to name her Eclipse, then of course the Partridge one is Nutmeg, and we think Pebbles will be the name of the blue one.

Not a lot to update on... the silkies are 2.5 weeks now.

Safaia and Cucpake are about 13 weeks.

Today it was really warm so they got strawberries and watermelon. They loved it!
