Learned a good lesson this week. Checking the laying boxes for the past couple of weeks in the new hen
house and have found pecking holes in several eggs each day. Tried different things to stop it but nothing worked. While looking at these holes It dawned on me that these where not pecking holes but claw holes. My laying boxes are 12" off the floor and the hens would jump into the boxes and land on some of the eggs. Put a perch across the front of the boxes and the problem was solved. No more damaged eggs!!. I'm learning.
