Ah, Jean - you guys are due for an update, aren't you.
I believe dh updated our web site with the recent hatchlings. I will give a bit of an update here as well. I have to get some updated pics of little Lucas and the young ones growing out.
As you know, I got 5 babies from the 5/20 hatch.
Had 2 eggs go to the hatcher on 5/26 and only 1 hatched, so this little one joined the other 5...These 6 are currently brooding with Lucas, which is the name we decided on for the little one. He's a couple weeks older than them, but being nice and all are doing well.
On 6/2 we had another hatch of 5 more Lester babies.
8 more are due on 6/12.
We also set another small group of eggs on 5/31, but haven't candled those yet to see how they're doing - they will be due around 6/21.
Since I am anticipating 50% roos on all of these hatches, I will continue weekly hatches until I am out of brooder space to build up 2 groups of ladies for Lester and Lucas. Hoping some of these early hatchlings will start producing eggs by winter, so we can continue right through. If not, we will plan to resume early next spring for our lavender offspring.
