Let’s Talk About Bird Flu

It was the domestic cat cases they were starting to track that was removed
Thanks. I had not caught that.

Odd the listings of infected cats were removed from the CDC site because there is at least
103 entries for domestic cats on the USDA site for mammals.

CDC also still has vet info for dealing with potentially infected cats and some other pages are still there dealing with cats.

I wish they would just promptly present all facts.
We need to know all current info.

We have 5 feral cats that roam about here every day and all through the night. So irritating. They also infest the yard with fleas that are now impossible to get rid of and I'm concerned the chickens will become infested with fleas as well. We had two vet emergencies last year due to our dog eating cat feces left in the yard. I was scooping up what I could find every day as I also scoop the dog poop. I scour the yard everyday looking for bird remnants. We heard two cats in what sounded like a horrible fight out in front of the house at 3 AM the other morning. Cats are a nuisance and I can't understand why people with cats cannot contain them in their house or be more responsible. Sorry to all you cat folks out there but they truly are flea magnets, according to our vet.

Sounds like you need to do some cat hunting.

catch and release?
How does one catch a feral cat? Sounds like I would need to buy a trapper cage of some sort and bait it with what? And place several of them around the house and yard. I called the county, they won't do anything about roaming cats, only dogs. Go figure.

I ran into someone at the park and we got into a cat discussion somehow and she also has a problem with roaming cats, lures them with food and water, picks them up when she can and takes them to the humane society for spay and neuter. I'm just not going to invest that much time or trouble.

I thought about poison but I wouldn't know what to use and don't want to harm any other potential wildlife, and honestly, I don't want to hurt them, I just want them to go away.
