I have 3 currently. All bantams... Thank goodness. There's definitely a hierarchy. But they don't really fight. They've been raised together since day 1. But they're only 16 weeks old... I love his sound but had to quiet my Roo with a no crow collar as we are not technically supposed to have roosters in our community. More importantly I don’t want him waking up out nice neighbors. I’m torn by having to use the collar. He seems fine with it but at the same time he struggles to crow and it’s kinda sad to me,
He’s an accidental Roo I got at 2 day old and had been my buddy for nearly 6 months. As he has grown I made sure to have him sit next to me for our cuddling time as I read if you put them in your lap they can take that as being dominant over you. All was well until a few days ago when he attacked me as I went into their yard to give them some scratch. He tore my leg a bit but I won the battle and things were ok for a day or so and today he did it again. I think He’s trying to for head Roo position. That’s mine so he’s out of luck. I won again today and he’s been back to normal for the day but this is not the relationship I want. I found a fellow farmer in the area who takes roosters for natural bug control. He’s going to go tomorrow morning. I’ll be sad to see him go , I’ve loved our time together but he’ll be happier without his collar and will be with other Roos who can teach him some manners
His girls may miss him some but will get along just fine with out him as they don’t really need protection, I’m writing this again( sorry if you’ve read it before) because the posts on this thread mention how Sweet their guy is at a few months old. I can tell you it kinda hurts to have em turn on you and not just the cuts and bruises they inflict physically, it hurts the heart too. I’ll be happy to have him report for duty on his new big patrol unit tomorrow and will wish him a happy new life. I will enjoy less stress in the coop and Bawk yard with the ladies.

This my number one top roo. His name is Mel, shortened from Mellie after I realized he was a rooster.
The day I got him I bought 15 pullets from a guy off MeWe. Obviously one was not a pullet.
There was a terrible thunderstorm that day and while gathering my new flock members to shelter I noticed one that was squatting with wings away from the body, tail dropping down and seemed to be very uncomfortable. I felt the crop and , boy, was it solid.
I looked it up and treated for impacted crop. A day later everything was normal. A couple of months later that bird started transforming into this magnificent creature.

He is gorgeous. Cherish him.This is my JimFeathers and Sir Emma! Lovely boys; started nocrow collars today due to as shole neighbors.

We only have just over half an acre... So we're pretty close to the neighbors. The white rooster, Blondie, never crows. He's taken the back seat I guess. My frizzle, Sunny is pretty loud and my other boy,Coop is high pitched and not extremely loud. No real complaints yet. I have told the neighbors to please be honest.

I have 4 for sure, possibly more since they are only 8 or 9 weeks old, but I love their little baby crows! 2 EE's and 2 BCM's. One of the Marans is the sweetest of the whole flock, always coming over for pets and jumping on my kids' laps. I didn't think I would have any interest in keeping them but I'm now working on plans for a bachelor pad and have been perusing the "free to good home" section regularly. I think I'm on the road to addiction.

This is Pollo, A Golden Laced Wyandotte....... best roo ever! He’s so sweet. I have one other D’Uccle roo, trying to sell him but no one wants him. Just gave away my third though.

Ive had to resort to the nocrow collar on my 2 boys whom i will not kill or give away. This is the only home theyve ever known; 15 mos now. 4 neighbors signef petition to get rid of them.Dont like the crowing. This is first night w collars on, will see what the morn brings!

How very precious! My 2 boys are being very kind and protective of their offspring! Such fabulous animals i think.❤
