Hello BYC! Yesterday I posted about some scab looking things on my chickens combs and wattles. I now know that they sadly have fowl pox. I am coming here for answers again. I have a 7 month old White Leghorn (Tweety), she just went into lay about a month ago, she and the rest of the flock members are eating 16% Dumor Layer Pellets, they have a good sized coop, and are free ranged. My concern with the White Leghorn is that her comb has been red some days and pink others. She can be an active, bright eyed, happy chicken one minute, and struggling to open her eyes and tucking her head in her feathers the next. Her breathing sounds normal, she still preens, and her poop is normal, but she has stopped laying along with the chicken who has the most serious case of fowl pox.
In the picture her comb looks fine, but actually it's pink. She was standing idle, and just let me pick her up.
