Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Good morning!  I'm in love with my new pair of goslings. :love   I am also so excited that my next pair of dewlap eggs have both externally pipped and should hatch late tonight. :fl  they hatch healthy and at least one is buff!

8geese, very sorry about your baby. :(

Thank you J. and congrads on the new goslings and I do hope you get that buff you want!!!!! The goslings are so pretty.

I went into the incubator and was doing the 10 day check to see if Sassafras's eggs were fertile. NO, none of the 2 were and the one Hanna egg this time was not fertile either. I am going to have to put Sassafras with a different gander next year. Right now Sassafras is sitting on some eggs she laid I dought they will hatch because none of the other ones did. If they do I will be shocked...

Having a great day and finally hatched our first Buff Dewlap which has been line bred from our Grey 'Dewlux' show line. Absolutely over the moon as its been years trying to breeding Buffs into this line.

Also just to put the cherry on the cake our new incubator was delivered this morning and just running it in at the moment before I move eggs across. I've checked the reading against our mercury thermometer and Brinsea Spot Check and all reading are correct.

Vents to full and the RH is already 10% lower than our other R-Com incubators. Superb smooth turning mechanism with choice of timing intervals and automatic daily cooling programmed in. (No more alarms to set to remind me eggs are out cooling). Waited until the kids came home so my daughter could help open it all up.

Here's some pics of our Grey line ,Buff parent, Goslings and new incubator. Forgive my indulgence

We are running a temp of 99-100 as it fluctuates, turn them 3-4 times every 24 hours, and keep moist sponges at bottom with a fan circulating the air. We have 3. We are at day 12 and will them tonight. We think we might have one good egg.

What type of bator is good for goose eggs? We couldnt find one so we made ours. We vented it, put in a fan, put in an elect outdoor thermometer and two outdoor thermometers. It does fine and holds the temp good.

Thanks everyone!!

Pete, CONGRATS!
