Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

J you sure have had plenty of eggs laid but I do believe you keep sending your buffs to your friend who has hatched so many buffs from your dewlaps.

Ain't that the truth!

But I have a really good feeling about the two eggs in lockdown now. It just feels like they are girls to me. The first one externally pipped about 12 hours ago and the other should pip this morning.

for safe hatches of buff girls!

I do believe that all my girls are finished because we are now in molt... I have one diehard goose sitting on eggs but do not believe they will hatch. So I am calling it done laying and hatching for the year.

Congrats on a good year and it must be nice to see your birds settling down. I know it's getting close to the end here too and a few of my guys are going into molt. It will be nice to see them all settle down and be a little quieter!

Hi all! I've been busy with kid stuff and haven't been on here much. Sounds like most of you are winding down. Me, too. I think my girl is done laying.

I had two eggs in the bator, but lost one Sunday. It pipped so fast overnight that I didn't get the humidity up in time and it shrink wrapped. Then last night I forgot the last egg on the counter and went to bed. I put it back in this morning and was surprised to see that it was still alive when I candled tonight! We'll see if it makes it all the way. It's going to be lonely if it does. My other goslings are much older and the little Americans are so busy! I'm afraid they would hurt a newly hatched gosling.

Hey there.

Hope your last egg makes it!! How are you liking your americans?

Hi J! So far, I like the Americans a lot. They are much "busier" and more adventurous than the Seb goslings. They hold their own in with the Sebs who at least twice their size. They are all very sweet, though.

He's had to over come which makes them stronger. Hey I got the Brewers yeast from Farmandhomelife.com and it's really nice.:)

Good glad you like it. I thought mine was pretty good even though i had nothing to compare it to. I read on the back of it that horses can eat it too so ive been giving it to one of my older horses who i thought was developing a stomach ulcer, hes gotten better too and is gaining his weight back and is eating better. Its a great supplement for all my animals and im glad you and everyone else told me about it.
That woman didnt show up yesterday for the gosling so im getting a little leary of letting one go now. She couldnt come today but wants to come tomorrow. I havent talked to her in person yet. Im a good judge of people though so i should be able to tell when/if i see her. She has rabbits and other animals and i have seen pics of them with her, if the pics are hers then those rabbits are in good shape and very well taken care of. Makes it a little better. Im not letting Dixie go, i can carry her like a baby now and shes getting her big girl feathers its cute.

This is the same brand as yours Animed I think is what it is called, I have started giving it to my 4 dogs along with garlic to keep fleas off of them, so now all my animals are on it. I went ahead and ordered 20lbs, since I had to pay shipping but it still came out to less than 4.00 a lb. Glad you are seeing an improvement in your horse.

I think you'll know when you meet this woman whether or not she is responsible enough to have one of your goslings. Hoping it works out.

Thats good you got it cheaper. I never knew it was good for fleas on dogs. I'll try it on mine. I think ill get 20lbs next time. It goes a long way but with 25 geese and 11 duckies and a horse on it ill need more.
If it doesnt work out ill just keep them. It would be different if i didnt have the room for them . I have 40 acres, that can hold alot of geese lol now the neighbors might hang me by my toes for the noise since they complained about them when i had only 4 lol
Next year since i have the number i was going for, i may not hatch any. Just sell the eggs for eating. That all depends on what happens though. I cant say that i wont lose any to sickness or predators between now and then.

Hi everyone. We are at the end of a busy breeding season, and the oldest babies are getting their curly feathers. I wanted to go ahead and post this cause I'm sure "angel wing" questions will start very soon. THIS IS NOT ANGEL WING. These are stiff primaries and great examples of what not to worry about. Angel Wing sticks out of the body at a 90 degree angle.

And the whole famdamily minus Paige who ran off with the American gander first chance she got *lol*
7 more babies that are still TINY so here we go again. These older ones are sortof honking when they talk now.

nee nee nee neeeeehonk

This maybe a stupid question but i have been wondering this and since i didnt raise my white chinese or roman tufteds, i have nothing to go on....
When do the baby ganders get their blue eyes? Or do they hatch with blue eyes? I have held all my white goslings under a light and looked but their eyes dont look to be blue.
