Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

I think emu eggs are beautiful, that green is so unique looking. I like trying new things and ive pretty much went down the list and raised all the "normal" pets and farm animals. Now i want to try something that not a lot people around here do. Either ostrich, emu or farming deer, but i like feathered friends so it would probably be ostrich.
A girl I was in college with grew up on a farm and they had ostrichs. she said they were mean, go with emus

Well, I had snuck 3 eggs under one of my muscovy girls and got a single hatch. The goose is still laying but not exactly ready to sit I think. Not sure if it's the 4 legged poultry wannabe quarter horse who has to nose in and see if the nesting material is edible. So, I'm working on restricting his movements. My gosling is 10-11 days old now and very demanding. Doesn't want to be held so much, but will hang between my feet when I take it outside and is going to be spoiled I'm sure. It has 3 chicks for company which climb on it's back to sleep.

Funny qh analogy. I have a few girls like that. lol

Congrats! Precious!!

Just put 9 more eggs in lockdown today. We shall see what happens on this hatch. Different incubator and I have hand turned them and ran them pretty dry and now have two small bowls of water on the top shelf and all the eggs on a bottom shelf with a clean wash cloth to keep them from rolling.

Brought in 10 more eggs from different nest all marked on which nest. Just put them in earlier this week. Will be a few more days until I check for spider veins.
On these I took eggs from Hanna curly grey SB, from our Nesie white smooth, Vanessa white curly and Gloria our curly grey.

for a good hatch! Congrats on setting 10 more eggs!! How many are you getting each week? The last few weeks, I was collecting about 16 eggs (from breeders), but everyone has stepped into gear and this week I got 32!

J, Things are slowing down here because some of my girls are going broody on me.Ginger grey SB went broody on me. Sarina had went broody and sat the full 30 days and nothing hatched as usual for her.
Samantha is gone broody on me. Some are still laying but not a lot of eggs. So not too sure just how much longer the sebbies will lay??? This cold has been lasting longer by all means than last year. It was really warm by now last year. But the ground hog was totally wrong this year!!!

Today it is nice and Sunny right now. But tonight we are suppose to get snow and they say we could get Sunday from 6 inches up to 12 inches of snow.

hey both of my geese that hatched died. one didn't make it all the way outta the egg and the other had to be helped and only lasted 2 days. will try again....lol

I have had a few dead in shell already. I think it was because I locked them down too early or something.

Here are this weekends hatch (including giant upside down baby on the right. Might be one more, but its USD as well and slow getting out. :

G&F I fallow Pete's advise and move the eggs into the hatcher but I dont raise humidity till an external pip happens... this allows me to continue checking the aircell and when internal pipping takes place. Although I do understand that since I dont "go off to work" each day it makes things easier for me then some others.
