Can anyone give me a recommendation for a brand name or model etc of scale that you have and like using?. The one I bought at the local grocery is definitely not adequate. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Are we suppose to be maintaining a 50% humidity? I thought we should do 20-25 %? That may explain some of my problems, I've got 4 goslings so far and 1 pip. I think the rest are not going to pip and may be DIS

all depends on your area.. mine do best at 30-40 %

here is the one I use.. it does pounds, onces and grams and you can zero it if using a bowl

found it in a flee market so can't help you with where to find one. the red lid with a hole is how I keep my eggs from rolling around.

I found a great one at Walmart last summer (to weigh our rescue kitten) and now I use it to weigh the goose eggs. It can be zeroed so you can put a little bowl on it to hold the egg, and can switch from lbs and ounces, to grams and kg, etc. I love it- it weighs boxes of eggs too- goes up to quite a few lbs I think.

Psue those are adorable!! Im waiting on brown chinese(my first hatch this year) they should be pipping tomorrow or the next day. I cant wait for the little fluff balls to get out.

Then in goes some tufteds, more browns and some whites and possibly white/brown crosses. 16 gathered so far hoping to have 20 eggs in total when i set them this week.

the last 2 Sebbie eggs hatched out little babies (Big in the shells though- I had to assist and let them hatch the rest of the way last night) Not sure why that happens- they lost proper moisture and internally pipped on time, didn't take real long to ext pip either- but then seemed stuck and didn't rotate much more than an inch...so pips about an inch long, then a big hole, then not much more progress until I took some shell off the end, then they could move and get their heads out, rest,then kick the shells off.
So they're out, and we built a nice new goose nesting box, so if no one wants the Sadie and Scout eggs I have listed, I'll give them back to them to set on if they want. The last 2 babies are still getting their legs and fluff on in the incubator. I'm hoping I can add them to the brooder box with my 2 week olds (2 of them) and no one will get hurt. Any advice?

Do the 2 older ones look like they'll both be whites? They're 2 weeks old today... They're both from Sadie's eggs (she's a gray saddleback and their dad is all white Sammy.)

To me they look like they could be saddlebacks also. If my opinion means anything, im no expert. LoL i saw some saddleback sebbie goslings at a sale last week that looked like those. Saw the mom and dad there too they were beautiful sebbie saddlebacks. I should have bought some lol i was stupid.

I have a Martha Stewart digital kitchen scale. They run around $40 and works great. It has the tare (zeroing out) feature. A cheapo plastic soap dish is what I use to set the eggs in.
