Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Nope I have not got the room here! We will keep them for a few weeks to see how they do and probably sell them on to good homes. Went to bed with 2 half fluffy goslings still in the incubator and now have 5 in there! with the last two stragglers deciding they would pip out of the SIDE of the egg!

My other half is getting a dab hand at helping the eggs out.
Yay for getting them gosling out ,and Congrats on new babies!!

Hi Iain. Thanks for the info on your blind goose. Will get some good pictures this evening but I'm becoming less and less optimistic about those eyes opening. Starting trits 3rd day today and lids still sunken and sealed tight. Stevie ( or Stevia if he's a she) is eating and drinking well and starting to pick the grass a little when we go outside. Seems to be a little less balanced than the other 4 but at least some of that is likely due to not getting as much exercise in the big brooder box as they do with mom and dad. The pair of 2 week old Orphington chicks that he's sharing the brooder with have done a good job of teaching him to eat and drink and my orphs are very laid back so I'm probably going to raise the 3 kids together in a new yard and move the adult flock to them when they're old enough. Guess he'll have to figure out the swimming thing on his own unless my chicks grow waterwings. Lol

Good luck with your gosling! Hope you can find a gosling companion for him as that would be better than chicks.

Congratulations everybody! I have 6 sebbies starting to transform from little dinosaurs into their pretty big kid feathers complete with curly chests

The Canadian geese (wild) still have all 5 of their goslings. I'm so proud of them! And so fun watching somebody else raise goslings for a change!

Beautiful!!

Lost another gosling. Daisy the two week old. Dixie and the other two ganged up on her. I think they broke something inside her. Dixie was a week older and the other two were Daisy's age so i dont know why they did it. Heard screaming ran in and they was pulling her in 3 different directions. She died shortly after i got her away from them. Im so sick right now. Daisy was the sweetest of them all. Makes me mad that they did that to one of their own. So they are going to be rehomed i cant take a chance of them doing that as they get older to a chicken or duck or another
goose.

Sorry for your loss. That is so sad.

Personally I would sell them to different homes.... But thats just me

I just lost a African Gosling yesterday afternoon.... Somehow she managed to get her head in the chicken wire...... I am still soooooo

I still do not know how she managed to even get her head in there, I use the small stuff ~ I believe it was one of those things that just happen. I have made a beautiful oasis for my babies, and why do they think the grass is greener on the other side.

We were unable to incubate our dewlap eggs but we were fortunate enough to adopt these two adorable babies from Shellie at Celtic Oaks. This is Olive and Brutus. These two are Buff Dewlaps. They just happen to be the siblings to Donnas two that she just got.

We will keep posting pics of these as they get bigger. They are so much fun.
Hope and Jeff

RG - Sorry to hear about your gosling but these things do happen from time to time despite best efforts.

Hope - they look great Dewlap Goslings that Shellie's sorted you out with and Buffs too

You're so lucky to get them as simply unavailable here in the UK. At the moment there are only 2 UK breeders of Buff Dewlaps. We're hoping to get some too.

Best of luck and I'll be most interested to watch their development
