Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and on the 3th of may, 2013 I received my hova bator 1588, and on the 5th placed the 1st ten eggs from my Chinese goose. 1st time incubating eggs and been looking at pete55's guide which has been very helpful. So far 3 of the eggs were not fertile and lost 2 when I had to remove them from the automatic turner because the little trays had broken due to getting stuck with one another as they turned. I just change the baskets to new trays and spread them one spot apart. So far I'm on my 19th day and the 5 remaining eggs look healthy and growing strong. I'm keeping a humidity of 40%~45% in the incubator I hope this is ok. I don't really get the whole letting the eggs cool and misting them??? I have not done it. I'm kinda scared of having to handle the eggs too much so I opt for leaving them alone. I hope this does not affect them too much. I do have a question and that is when should I remove the automatic turner on the 24th day or the 27th day kinda at a lost here but sure would appreciate the info/help/advice for this noob. Its been a very fun project really looking forward the seeing all 5 hatch that would make my summer =). Thanks to you all and glad to be here.
