Beautiful pictures, everyone!! You guys have been chatty while I've been away from my computer.  Thanks for the fun reading.   May we have a drum roll please..............................
When I got home from work today, I found a buff baby in my bator! :ya :weee :celebrate

Woohoo!!! Dare I ask - boy or girl????

Looks like i worried for no reason about selling my goslings. I have decided not to sell the 3 brown chinese. Decision was made already really but with the help of the woman not showing up when she said she would. Three days in a row "something came up". Im not a 3 strikes and your out type person. That kind of told me she wasnt a responsible enough person to take care of goslings, whose to say something wont come up again and they arent fed or watered or turned out and left out and something kills them? So with that my babies are safe atleast i know they are being fed, watered and babysat when out. Even though they attacked Daisy and she died i still felt like i was giving up a kid for adoption to an unfit mother. Daisy's death was hard but i think she may have had health problems that caused the attack, her death shouldnt jeopardize 3 other lives though. They have been running with 9 healthy ducks and 2 disabled ducks and they havent even bumped into one much less show aggression. Im glad that woman never came.

I love when things just "happen" that shows you what you need to do. I hope they are great kids for you

Oh and pity the thread was moved. I wonder why that was necessary? Will make it difficult to find as a resource for newcomer :(

I didn't notice either. I'll have to look where it is now.

Pete, I asked a question about blue genetics in the color guide thread you started. I'm hoping you can help. I have two pairs of American goslings - one blue and one lavender. If I understand correctly, breeding blue x blue would theoretically result in blue, lavender and grey. However, I never hear anything about "Grey American" geese. Am I missing something, or is it correct that that breeding would result in 25% grey offspring???

Thank you all!!!! She is wonderful!! Overnight, her brother hatched out great too........ Yep, I said it. I hatched another grey boy. So..... current total from my trio is 9 boys and 1 girl (with 8 more eggs developing).

And I totally agree that this thread should not have been moved from the goose forum. I had planned to edit thread title to note that it is evolving into gosling development. Hopefully a nice BYC moderator will move the thread back to where it belongs.
