But I like to mix up a solution of vinegar, bleach and water. What one of these products doesn't kill off, the other will. I tear down the incubator as far as I can and scrub off all the crud that may have built up from incubation and hatching. Rinse off all parts and scrub with soap and water really well. The parts I could not get too, I blow out with the air compressor. Then I spray everything down with my vinegar bleach solution. Let it sit and dry and respray again. This seems to get all the nasties out.

thanks! ok, vinegar. what are you using exactly, white vinegar? apple cider vinegar? I have both purified/filtered ACV and non-purified "raw" ACV. I feed us the Raw ACV and spray down stuff with the purified ACV (lil cheaper) w/water.

like the idea of the baking soda rinse.

Either vinegar works for cleaning, the main differance is what the original matter that was fermented on it's way to make vinegar, Since I work with some nasty alikili solutions, i buy gallon jugs of white vinegar for $1-$2 and use that.

My house often smells like a tossed salad.

my Italian grandmother on the non-farming side, did have a monster garden, awesome zucchini, cucumbers and "maters" as they are called around here. she made her own dressing... oregano, oil, vinegar, drench the iceberg, maters, cukes, onions...repeat nightly, usually accompanied by rigis and homemade sauce.
