Well the .22 isnt as good for groundhog as a .17 the .22 is a little more close range and well the .17 is a little farther range.... How about I just use my 308

Your right, the 17 has better "pop" to it. But every gun rack starts with a good all around 22 man. Cheap to shoot, means you can shoot more. The more ya shoot, the better you shoot.... BTW, I have a few.... I still use the 22's for most "around the house" needs... Bill
