Leyla, glad Molly is ok!
Im partial to the one at the waterer, giving the stinkeye, im calling her chippy, with the brown ear. hoping she is a she.
I like that curve in her neck.

I haven't checked into this thread in a while... but here's an update!!!

The ones that did hatch are very healthy and big but overall I had a crummy hatch.

I ended up getting only 11 babies out of 48 eggs.

AND I was hoping for two big Jumbo Brown males to replace my smaller boys... and only got one.

Guess I will have to have another hatch!!!

sorry WMR,

feel bad...if you wanna try again, I can easily get ya some more and maybe we can have some shipped from Kansas, put on a white lab coat and see if the distance shipped makes a difference. I sent ya ~24 right? whites and browns? get any whites to hatch?

I know the browns I sent you eggs from were very young, I think they know what they are doing now, theyve gone from listening to pop music to slow smooth jazz

I have 2 more batches of white/brown and brown/white crosses in the bators now, so once they hatch and we get a control% hatched, we can ship em again and see how we do?

holler my wheaten buddy, TD

And yes, that little cutie giving the stinkeye is a cutie too! You are right, she has a nice shape to that neck.

I had some shipped eggs at the time. I didnt keep any who hatched unfortunately. They weren't as big as I hoped to add to my lines. Oh well. But on the bright side it does mean more hatching

wahoooo!

TD the whites are looking good! Are you trying to up the size by crossing or just experimentation? I wish you got more pure whites though! That would have been nifty!

Mine are doing good and really big too.

I was really surprised by the size of the male when I picked him up yesterday, he's hefty.

However, I only got THREE out of the whole hatch that were the right color and size to add to my breeder pens.

Keep the big ones, Toss the rest (unless you need the color for something else), and keep trucking on. Lots of work but so worth it at the end. I have been doing this since 2005 and size is good but still not every bird is perfect. Just how things roll and everyone has their preference in breeders
