WOW! I love it, but it sure as heck ain't ugly. Couldn't ask for anything better in Florida's heat. Best of all it's made of pallets.
GREAT JOB PLANNING AND MAKING IT.
ETA I can't tell for sure, but I hope you have a narrow strip of hardware cloth around that open top.
Here's a pic of the coop I've dubbed as the "Red Neck Chicken Coop!" I bought this thing after seeing it on Craigslist which looked good in the picture (it was side view!) and had it delivered without personally seeing it in person. (We didn't have a way to transport it & the seller offered to bring it to me which I thought was a great deal until I relized it needed a lot of work!) We've removed the the "windows" and replaced with better plywood as well the lid to the nesting boxes. You can't see the side doors, but we had to replace them as well. I won't even mention how much we paid initially for this or how much we're sinking into it to get it fixed up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to cover (or seal) gaps?? There are several places where the wood doesn't meet correctly & there are gaps which will let in drafts, snow, water, etc. Not to mention the roof doesn't overlap & there is gap in the roof!! Any suggestions as to how to fix??
I have to say there is a lot of creativity among the folks coming here! There are some really cool ideas and I'm keeping some of the pictures for ideas. You guys ROCK!
I have two ugly coops, the first is an old coop I made in a hurry to house and isolate new birds
and the second is the main layer coop, I built it out of some privacy fence panels that a friend gave me, I just put a rubber roof on it this past week
believe it or not last winter the first coop was connected to the second one as a run lol talk about ugly. my pvc run exploded and I moved it ove to give the birds a way outside, I think you can see part of it on top of the first coop
