Treated lumber while accept paint quite readily but it must be allowed to "dry" in the sun for 6 months to a year. If you bought it new it was probably wet and heavy, let it dry out and paint away. Green wood won't stain as readily and will change what you expect the color to be so like all things do a sample first and let it dry and that may be your final color, several coats will darken it of course.

In this one we have 2 play houses with nest boxes and a pallet house, we are working on turning this one into our breeder pens, by this summer we should be separated and safer

This is the main coop,everyone is locked up in here at night, the old glass door, the open part we have a small gate that goes in front at night

and here's my nest boxes, I had an old bunk bed we weren't using anymore, hens seem to like it and my roosts are down for cleaning.

This is my coop and it's pretty dang ugly


I forgot to say, I'm proud of it, work in progress, I'm doing my best to recycle and go green with it.

I love all the coops--everyone is unique & original in it's own way. Gotta say, though, that ParidiseFarm2009 has one that I think I can do on my own. Love the color too!
