I agree with SparksNv, I haven't seen anything bad either, as long as the chickens are happy, safe and making eggs, that's a chicken coop in my book.

I became disabled so money was an issue, but getting those baby chicks were therapuetic for me and they needed a coop. I recieved some free 2 x 2's and other oddball wood. I did buy a roll of chicken wire, it's amazing what other people want to get rid of or will just give you.

I'll post a pic of mine as soon as I figure out how ;-)

I think I got it! there has been updates to the coop (all wire is stapled down, nesting boxes are being made to be attached to the back) and it does look better and safer, with my Fibromyalgia, I work on it about 1/2 a day. When when winter comes, I'll attach removable solid sides, right know it's about 108 here and winters are mild.
OBTW, it's 2' x 4'. and yes, I've cleaned the waterer out, it's no longer green.

Ours is functional if not beautiful and didn't cost much. The run was built against an existing wood fence ( I gave up a flower bed.) The coop house started with a pallet. Love being able to open the nesting boxes from the outside. There is also a door on the other side of the coop for easy cleaning. Lots of windows for the Louisiana heat that can be closed come cooler weather.

I suppose I'm going to have to take the camera out tomorrow to show you what an ugly coop looks like.
Our two chickens are housed in a coop fabricated from a recycled kitchen cabinet. I'm planning to expand the community with a second cabinet that is a little larger, and somehow add an exterior nesting box. So far the cost of the coop is zilch, as all materials were reclaimed or recycled, as will be evident when the pix are posted.

I used to think my chicken house was the "cat's meow" But seeing all these really fancy ones posted I realize this is where mine belongs. Still I'm proud of myself for cobbling together something for under $400 that keeps them safe at night, etc.

And this is the nest boxes I just finished last weekend. The bottom ones are the original attempt cut down to slide under the main nest box set up. I may take those up. They don't use them and they are too hard to check.
