Hey Ellymay! He's not that bad for starts, milles are a new colour for Cochins and are a work in progress. I have not shipped eggs before, but am concidering giving it a go when they start laying again, if you are interested. My Cochins have 100% fertility and really great hatch rates. I will let you know when they start laying if I decide to ship eggs :-D
Where did you get the eggs for the
I have decided to try shipping eggs when it warms up a little if you are still interested :-D

MadamePoofyBow, I would be interested in purchasing some of your Mille Fleur Cochin eggs if you are still willing! You have gorgeous birds, and I’m wanting to start a MF breeding project. I haven’t had any luck finding anyone around here that even breeds Cochins, and we aren’t even talking about MFs!

The person I got these from told me they are cochins. I see they are bearded. I think they are D'uccles . Any thoughts. It's a pair.

You do have some beautiful birds. I just have a couple of questions. I had gotten a Mille Fleur d'Uccle and a Porcelain d'Uccle chick, but Millie didn't make it. I love the way they look, but I'm thinking they're smaller than what I want. I have a Barred Rock, a Barnevelder, and a couple of gold-laced. Are these the same as the d'Uccles or a little bigger? I'd like to get another in the spring with that coloring.

Thank you
The cochin bantams are fatter looking barely bigger. Maybe attend a chicken auction or small animal livestock auction in your area you never know what you may find there.

Facebook sucks.
You need to post pics here please.
I will when i get home.

most of my birds were just killed yesterday by the dog my neighbors were sitting. i didnt know the dog was over there or i wouldnt have let my birds out. i got a call from him and came outside to find feathers everywhere and him picking up dead birds and making a pile.
the dog got all my best birds and left the ones that were going to be sold this summer. my only frizzle mille, my best calico from my line, my best mille from my line, and my main rooster to name a few. he offered to buy me new birds but i wasnt hopefull of finding adults locally. i saved the contact of the guy i got my original calicos from years ago and by some chance he still has a few and is willing to sell me a trio. i also reached out to one of the best mille breeders in the country (top 10) who is in my state, but 3 hours away so ive never gotten birds from her yet, but its been a dream of mine. she sold all of her 2020 growouts, but she said i couldnt have better timing because she decided she didnt need 6 pens of mille and is going thru them this week and ill be the first to know which birds shes selling.

Question. Lol.. I’m new to breeding and bantam Mille fleur is what I am doing. I keep seeing Cochin come up when I search for what they might look like grown. Is this what they are called as the mix or is that just a different breed that looks similar? I was researching the breed but can’t find much info on it. I’m absolutely in love with my babies, they are first gen.

I feel ya! Most of my flock was killed yesterday, but by some chance I’ve been able to track down birds from 2 separate breeders! While I’ll never be able to replace my birds because each one has a unique color pattern I am getting a calico trio from the person I got my first birds from and a group of millies from one of the best breeders of Mille in the country (Cindys plucky cluckies)
Then I’m going to get npip certified and by late May I’ll hopefully be able to ship nationwide id love to help you restart, but you might want all Mille.
And as promised @The Moonshiner here are some pictures of my flock, but many of these were killed yesterday View attachment 2625757View attachment 2625758 View attachment 2625760View attachment 2625762View attachment 2625764View attachment 2625765View attachment 2625766View attachment 2625767View attachment 2625769View attachment 2625770View attachment 2625771View attachment 2625772View attachment 2625774View attachment 2625775View attachment 2625776View attachment 2625777View attachment 2625778View attachment 2625779View attachment 2625780View attachment 2625781View attachment 2625782View attachment 2625783

So sorry to hear about your birds, they were beautiful! I will definitely keep you in mind when I'm ready to restart

Mille fleur refers to the color pattern, and there are a number of breeds that have mille varieties. You babies look like they might be a mix between silkies and cochins - they're adorable! Their color looks like some of my first generation cochins did as chicks, but it's hard to tell how they'll feather out. Keep us updated with pics as they grow!
