Gorgeous bird, I'm so sorry. Were any of then a bonded pair? I imagine the two cockatiels
I purchased a pair of Cockatiels from a breeder about 28 years ago, they produced a few clutches during their lives. About 6 months after bringing the Cockatiels home...there was Skeebie. Skeebie came from the same breeder, she was the only bird that hatched from a clutch of eggs and the breeder didn't want to rehome this little one to just anyone being without a mate. Knowing I was trustable with small parrots having purchased the Cockatiels from her, she convinced me I NEEDED to take this lone Lovebird! We were a bonded pair ever after, she pretty much lived on my shoulder. She passed away at age 12, fairly average age for a Lovebird. Of all the birds, chickens, quail, dogs, cats, you name it that I have kept over my years, I was never so devastated when Skeebie passed on. Wanted to jump into the grave with her.

I had been tempted last week when I found her nest to move everything somewhere safe, but didn't want her to break and end up incubating them myself. Well, I'm doing that anyhow. :(

And of course, I broke the three hens that kept fighting over the one nesting box, so no broodies. Actually, there is one more, but I have no idea where her nest is! I've looked and tried to follow her, and nope!
So sorry Wind. :hugs

Oh she was very very special. I can't imagine how painful her passing must've been. I'm so sorry❤️:hugs

Thanks! :hugs I balled like a baby for months, had to wear sunglasses in public to hide my eyes. :D I hardened over time but I still miss the heck out of my little Skeebie.

:hugs Yes they do. Some of these creatures get so interwoven in our hearts, we lose a part of ourselves when they pass.
