I purchased a pair of Cockatiels from a breeder about 28 years ago, they produced a few clutches during their lives. About 6 months after bringing the Cockatiels home...there was Skeebie. Skeebie came from the same breeder, she was the only bird that hatched from a clutch of eggs and the breeder didn't want to rehome this little one to just anyone being without a mate. Knowing I was trustable with small parrots having purchased the Cockatiels from her, she convinced me I NEEDED to take this lone Lovebird!

We were a bonded pair ever after, she pretty much lived on my shoulder. She passed away at age 12, fairly average age for a Lovebird. Of all the birds, chickens, quail, dogs, cats, you name it that I have kept over my years, I was never so devastated when Skeebie passed on. Wanted to jump into the grave with her.
