Well, its been a rough 7 days plant wise. I have kept a few house plants over the years, a few indoor cactus but never ever had bug problems.

Recently I've been on a cactus and succulent buying spree and have collected quite a few new plants. All was going well, plants were enjoying sunshine, until.....SCALE! And I have no idea WHERE it came from! This started over a month ago after I moved all the plants outside, being a plant novice I didn't know what I was seeing on stems and leaves, crusty looking growths on different parts of a few plants. I thought maybe it was sunburn. More and more plants started getting this crud all over them and after doing research on line, I figured out it is Scale.

It got my Medusa Head pretty bad, nearly killed one of my favorite talk green cacti, my String of Pearls suffered badly, ghost plant lose half its leaves, ripple jade is a mess, bears paw tips and paws got nailed, I lost 3 plants that were too far gone, and the final straw was when it turned up on one of my Lithops, I had only had them 4 days!

So everybody is back inside under my grow lights, outside days are over!. At first I tried insecticidal soap but that stripped the wax off all the cactus and my barrels have blow out on their sides. I think they will heal, time will tell. The soap damaged a few other succulents. Now I am using rubbing alcohol on a q-tip on affected areas and a diluted alcohol mix to spray on all the other plants as prevention every few days. I have 3 plants in isolation, the ones that survived that got hit the hardest, the Medusa Head, Chalk plant and my favorite Green cactus.

My heart has been broken over this, it was pretty hard on me a few days ago. Hopefully over the coming weeks I can eradicate these awful bugs. And it doesn't keep spreading.

Yeah, I ended up reloading the version from the night before, so I only had to rewrite a few paragraphs in the end thankfully. I have no clue what happened. Normally I'd think I accidentally cut the pages while I was half asleep, but it's too hard to even cut a full page when I want to, I can't do it in my sleep for that big of a batch

Yeah, I ended up reloading the version from the night before, so I only had to rewrite a few paragraphs in the end thankfully. I have no clue what happened. Maybe it glitched somehow and it didn't save? I don't think my ideas will help much, I'm not too computer savvy

It's through Google docs, so it saves automatically, and it had been saved before. It took me back to stuff I'd written over a month ago, and I have to reopen it every time I leave that tab
