I went out to make sure all the birds were locked up completely after letting them have supervised free range earlier and somehow I stupidly forgot to make sure our buff orpington hen was inside.
She just passed away a few minutes ago after being attacked by the raccoon
Our dogs scared off the raccoon

Hi everyone! I think I commented on this thread a while ago but I'm basically new here... I love the idea. Just wanted to come and say hello!

@JacinLarkwell I love your earrings!

@KikiDeAnime I'm so sorry about your hen. Don't beat yourself up - everyone makes mistakes. Once, I forgot to put the hens away in their run and close the door one night before I left for dinner with my family in town. A great-horned owl took one of my hens and terrorized everyone else. I was so mad at myself, but what's done is done, and I just have to focus on keeping the other chickens safe. Also, I need ADHD meds - I forget all sorts of things and sometimes it gets really bad, like in that instance.
