LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Thanks Fluffy! I wish I could see through its "feathers" I can somewhat peer in with a flashlight but I can't really see the flesh much. I really love this plant, I hope I keep it alive!! :fl Its slowing down now, I think its about to go dormant.

If you can get the plant to flower, I'm sure you'll manage to keep it alive:lol:. I'm willing to bet that this succulent with be with us for many years to come under your care. Relax, you've got this:hugs

Oh thank you so much for your vote of confidence! :hugs I'm still learning about these plants and when to water. The succulents are actually pretty easy, I've learned by feeling the leaves and so far its working! Cactus are a bit more difficult, I've been using a tooth pick in the root ball to test for moisture and this seems to be working ok. But some cactus I have to visual the size of them, shrinkage if you will. This plant does deflate and inflate but I have a hard time seeing it! :barnie 😁 I keep a watering journal going so I can learn its patterns, I hate guessing. I just love this plant so much! ❤️

You're doing great! Totally get that about the watering. If I'm not sure, I just wait. A few days, or maybe a week or two. Sure, it might mean they don't grow AS fast, but they do grow. The toothpick trick is a good one too. I did that a lot last year, only thing different is that I used a souvlaki stick

Yeah the Souvlaki sticks work too! I have some similar chop sticks I use occasionally. I also have a metal moisture meter but I've found that many times the soil at the bottom is dry but the root ball is still moist. However what ever it takes for us to gauge the moisture in our plants is good enough! :highfive:
