LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I've reconnected with an online friend from years ago, and I'm so happy. I loved chatting with them, especially when I was in my dorm at college for a semester, but we got busy with schoolwork and then their graduation and we drifted apart 2-3 years ago.

It's so nice chatting with them again now

I gotta say, I'm really loving them brahmas. They're so quiet, they're big and gorgeous, they're relatively friendly, much much friendlier than some of my other birds, the combs of course, and I'm loving the foot floofs

Ooh I forgot to say. They're SMART. First night they roosted on some old cartons I use for egg boxes. After they settled I picked them up and put them in the coop. Every night since then, both girls have returned to their coop and have roosted. Baby boy on the other hand still needs to be put in the coop by me  . As you can tell I'm really loving them. To the point I'm reconsidering my decision with the serama

Been too tired to interact much with this thread 🙁

I have quail eggs in the incubator finally :wee

and we got sheep yesterday! Had them for 5 minutes then they knocked down the electric fencing and ran off in to the rest of the partially fenced field. 2 ran to the end and got stuck in the ditch, other 2 I had to herd around until my brother’s friend (who I am very thankful was there) caught them :th. Now we are having to make a fence because none of us trust the electric fence at the moment 😅

my hips feel like the are going to pop out of place at any moment

I rate this experience -5/10

Not the most intelligent of animals, lol! Yeah, you need to train them to the fence before releasing them into an enclosure with one. It's worse with pigs if they haven't been trained yet!

Oh yeah, electric fencing sucks when the sheep aren't close sheared. Their wool insulates them
