LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I was considering them! But then I decided on runner ducks instead and I can’t remember why 😅 are they good for eating slugs?
They are super bug eaters! Slugs 'n snails, skeeters 'n ticks, all kinds of crawly and slimy things!

And major bonus, THEY'RE QUIET!!! Oh, and I find Muscovy much friendlier than ducks, and have amazing personalities.

(Fluffy is now thinking "Oh no, they got him talking about scovies!")

now I am tempted to get them instead of runner ducks 🤣 they are bigger then plain ducks aren’t they?

Bad news on my front, once again. I'm having a really rough summer...

One of my hens had been sitting on eggs almost two weeks, in a hidden nest in a patch of daylilies. Came out this morning to go feed everyone, and was bringing some to her, only to find the area a shambles, feathers everywhere, cold eggs, and no hen. :(

One eggs was busted, and there was yolk and a bit of blood on the others. I took them inside, gave them a wipe, and have them in the incubator now.

I really didn't want to be raising more chicks inside!!!

Only the males are bigger. Like, giant bigger. The females are about the same size as a medium duck. And they have the prettiest little trill noise they make!!! 🥰 🥰 🥰

Aww. At least you closed that chapter very nicely❤️. I didn't know you kept parrots!
Yes both Cockatiels and a Lovebird. My beloved Skeebie the Lovebird, no longer with me, rest in peace my precious... (and no she isn't dead here. She would sleep in your hand...) ❤

Oh gosh, I am so sorry about your hen. :hugs Heart sinks into your gut when you find feathers everywhere. :(

Gorgeous bird, I'm so sorry. Were any of then a bonded pair? I imagine the two cockatiels

I had been tempted last week when I found her nest to move everything somewhere safe, but didn't want her to break and end up incubating them myself. Well, I'm doing that anyhow. :(

And of course, I broke the three hens that kept fighting over the one nesting box, so no broodies. Actually, there is one more, but I have no idea where her nest is! I've looked and tried to follow her, and nope!
