Hi Hannah!

Welcome to the thread. :frow
40 chickens is a lot! I loooove silkies, but I don't own any.

Can I just say, if you call me, just know you've made an enemy for life.

Not totally serious, I just hate when people call me and they're not in my contacts. Completely ramps up my panic and paranoia. Even worse when I can't google the number to see who it was.
If the call display is someone I don't know, it goes to voice mail. Which says it's unmonitored! :lau

I actually warn people about this if I know they'll be calling, and tell them to leave a message anyhow I do check them. But too many bill collectors right now, and way too many telemarketers.

Good day all, hoping everyone is having fabulous day!

Good day! Not the best of days for us. We were hit by heavy rain yesterday and tonight, the bantam pen was not ready
Oh no, I hope everybody is OK, flooded bird pens? No fun having lakes in the bird yard. :(

All birds are OK, some just more wet than they'd like. Ursula spent the night in one of the storage rooms. No floods, thankfully. Just muddy, poopy, runs

If the phone rings here I don't answer unless I hear their voice on the answering machine.
Yeah, landline. No cell phone here.
Our land line used to get a craptonne of static on it. I'd call AT&T to complain. One time, I said to the woman who answered (the fact that I talked to a person tells you this was about 25 years ago!), "I have a lot of static on my line."

She answered, "Ma'am, I can't hear you. There's a lot of static on the line."

Yeah, bingo. And this was in the days of dial up internet connections too.
