Fluffy, do you know about clipping Christmas cacti to start new plants? I know you can do it, but i cant find if its only at certain times or it it needs to have a flower attached.
You'll see little 'rootlets' forming between two segments sometimes. Those are good candidates. You can even wrap a joint in plastic with some damp sphagnum moss and it should root out.
